This record has such a magical flow to it, it seems to capture so directly the ups and downs of life, the joy of music and dance, and it's just so damn catchy and fun to listen to as well. Giles

I heard Oh play with Dave Douglas/Joe Lovano at a Wayne Shorter celebration concert in Montreal (2013?) several years ago and was very impressed, and I wasn't the only one, based on a few overheard conversations! Randomly thought to look her up. Great record, super talented musician! Mohan Thomas

This album feels as if it could have been released in the late 50's, except for it's thoroughly modern approach. It's first class musicians working with first class material. It's been a consistent 'go-to' album since I purchased it. Kenneth Pyron
This new LP from Evan Shay offers up irresistible takes on future funk and jazz, with a clear dance music undercurrent. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 5, 2020

Taking 'aural stocktake' recently, it struck me how pervasive Kris Davis' playing was on my recent listening...I'd almost taken her for granted...sorry Kris, I won't do that again!
This is a wonderful album/project and lets her playing shine...lots of essential duets here...so pleased to hear her say (and confirm my suspicion) that Paul Bley was an inspiration...he's a cornerstone of my listening and it seems that Kris is becoming one too! John Cratchley
